The Region 13 Special Education Certification Program goes beyond simply preparing teachers for certification. Our mission is to equip future special educators with a strong foundation in research-based, innovative instructional practices and the tools to create environments where all students can succeed.

Offered statewide, our program provides the flexibility and support you need to transition confidently into the classroom. With multiple learning formats—including structured in-person cohorts, a balanced hybrid model (a blend of in-person and online learning), and fully live online cohorts—you can choose the path that best fits your schedule and learning preferences.

Our rigorous yet supportive curriculum prepares you for the realities of teaching. You’ll receive targeted preparation for the TExES certification exam, engage in evidence-based training, and explore curriculum aligned to the Texas Teacher Standards. We emphasize reflective practice and professional growth to help you not only succeed as a new teacher, but to continue evolving throughout your career.
