New Counselor Institute

Designed for counselors with less than 3 years of experience, but all are welcome!
ESC Region 13 will facilitate the New Counselors’ Institute (NCI) to build a community of inclusion and belonging for all counselors new to the field. Each participant will have opportunities to consult with experienced counselors while networking and collaborating with other new counselors in the region. Each participant will be empowered by this opportunity and will leave with practical strategies, tools and models to design a successful program meeting the unique needs of the school community they serve. NCI will be limited to 35 counselors to foster a learning environment where connection and collaboration is highly encouraged.
Program Focus
- Nurture and build professional confidence within a collaborative environment
- Provide proactive problem-solving strategies to enhance counselor collaboration within the school community.
- Create data-driven, evidence-based programs to support the Campus Improvement Plan
- Ensure counselors are following the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs
