Instructional Coaching Pathways is a differentiated approach to targeted professional learning for district and campus instructional coaches, specialists, and curriculum coordinators. This program helps increase their knowledge and skill in instructional coaching standards and research-based instructional strategies.
Each participant will choose one of the following learning pathways and have the opportunity to attend a series of 7 half-day sessions (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) throughout the year.
To maintain fidelity and commitment to learning and practice, registration within the pathway will remain consistent. However, both pathways take place on the same date in order to build networking capabilities and cross-pathway collaboration.
Pathway 1: Balanced Coaching
In this pathway, participants will learn the latest research in instructional coaching standards, skills, models, and strategies through the lens of the four essential components of our Balanced Coaching Framework. These include Interpersonal Skill, Coaching Expertise, Leadership and Facilitation, and Content & Pedagogy. Participants will have the opportunity to network across campuses and districts to share ideas and expertise in order to take back and apply their learning to their practice.
Pathway 2: Content Coaching
In this pathway, participants will expand their knowledge and build an instructional playbook of high-impact, content-area strategies that align to John Hattie's research on the top influences of student achievement. Participants will have the opportunity to network across campuses and districts to share ideas and expertise in order to take back and apply their learning to their practice. This pathway is intended for those who coach multiple content areas.
