Counselor Support Services Coop

A Yearlong Learning Experience for School Counselors

The Region 13 School Counselor Cooperative is designed to support school counselors through a thoughtfully curated series of professional learning experiences across the school year. Each session is grounded in the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and aligned to the Effective Schools Framework, equipping counselors with practical tools they can immediately apply on their campuses.Designed to support a multidisciplinary team, this cooperative extends beyond school counselors to include campus advisors, student support liaisons, school-based therapists, and counseling and mental health student support staff. This model allows districts to maximize professional learning opportunities, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and maintain budget efficiency across student support services. Our sessions are intentionally sequenced to reflect the realities of the school year—beginning with a strong foundation and progressing into deeper, targeted topics such as responsive services, legal and ethical practice, emerging trends like AI, and high-impact Tier 2 supports.Participants will engage in learning that strengthens all four components of a balanced school counseling program:

  • Guidance Curriculum
  • Individual Planning
  • Responsive Services
  • System Support

Through a combination of in-person and virtual workshops, counselors will gain relevant updates, collaborate with peers across the region, and leave with actionable strategies that support both student outcomes and campus goals.
